This is the first contract we went with.  It was an estate sale and unfortunately the home had not been well maintained.  The foundation was cracked and we got estimates for $8k-16k to fix the problems.  We decided to back out as we felt the foundation of the home is important.

We had hoped to purchase this home, but were greatly disappointed by the dishonesty in the short sale business.  The owners/bank KNEW of the mold issues and yet didn't disclose ANY damage before we got into the contract.  After wasting $750 and 6 hours of time for an inspection ....we realized that this home was no longer "affordable" for us.  We got a contracting bid that was OVER $20k just for the major stuff (mold in basement, electrical issues - the home inspector was electrocuted, and the deck not being attached to the home and settling into the ground).  I think that it is sad that none of this was disclosed beforehand.  The owner obviously knows that there is a broken furnace, 2 bathrooms don't work, mold issues, etc.
